【题  目】Using spins in diamond for quantum technologies.

【摘  要】Solid-state defect centers, such as the nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond, represent a promising and versatile platform for quantum technologies, with potential in areas as diverse as sensing, simulation, networking, and computation. However, the presence of noise still makes real-world applications challenging. In this talk, I will present some work done during my PhD focused on overcoming the challenge of noise in diamond to facilitate its practical use.

【报告人简介】Yang Wang, Ph.D. in Science. From 2011 to 2015, he studied at the Department of Physics of Sichuan University and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Physics. From 2015 to 2017, he studied at the Department of Physics of RWTH Aachen University in Germany, where he earned a Master's degree in Physics under the supervision of Professor Barbara Terhal. From 2018 to 2023, he pursued a Ph.D. at QuTech, Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, with Professor Barbara Terhal and Professor Tim Taminiau as his Ph.D. advisors. Since March 2023, he has been a postdoctoral researcher at the 3rd Institute of Physics at the University of Stuttgart in Germany, collaborating with Professor Joerg Wrachtrup. During his doctorate, his primary work involved designing and deeply participating in a series of experiments aimed at controlling noise in nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond. His current research interests are mainly focused on the development of quantum technologies based on color centers for practical applications.
